Anil Dhasmana to head RAW
An officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, Anil Dhasmana has been appointed as the next head of external intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He will succeed Rajinder Khanna. Dhasmana, has served on important desks in RAW and has been serving RAW for the past 23 years.
The RAW is the primary foreign/external intelligence agency of India. It is headquartered in New Delhi. The primary function of RAW is to gather foreign intelligence and counter-terrorism. In addition it is responsible for obtaining and analysing information about foreign governments, corporations and persons to advise Indian policymakers.
