Andhra Pradesh to Launch Backward Classes Caste Census

The government of Andhra Pradesh is gearing up to launch a comprehensive caste census for Backward Classes, targeting 139 communities under this category. The census will commence around November 15 and utilize the village secretariat system and volunteer network for data collection.

Unveiling Backward Classes Strength

Many members of Backward Classes communities are unaware of their numerical strength and their representation in various sectors. The caste census aims to address these gaps and provide valuable insights into the demographics and socio-economic status of these communities.

Comprehensive Enumeration

The BC caste census will cover a wide range of parameters, including region-wise and profession-wise enumeration. It aims to provide a holistic understanding of the Backward Classes communities in Andhra Pradesh.

Community Engagement

To facilitate community participation, the government plans to create an email address and an app to collect suggestions from Backward Classes communities. Additionally, round table meetings will be organized in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajamahendravaram, Kurnool, and Tirupati. These meetings will provide a platform for intellectuals from Backward Classes communities to contribute their insights and inputs to the census process.
