Andhra Pradesh Launches YSR AASARA SCHEME

The chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh launched the YSR AASARA scheme on September 11, 2020. It is a part of implementation of “Nava Ratnalu”. The scheme has been launched with the commitment of alleviating the poverty in both rural and urban areas and to improve the productivity

Key Highlights

  • Bank loan will be reimbursed in four installments under the scheme to the Self Help Groups (SHGs).
  • Estimated number of beneficiaries SHGs covered are 1,54,956 in the urban areas.
  • The scheme has been launched for women empowerment economically and socially.
  • State government has allotted Rs 6,792.20 crores towards the first installment out of the total due of Rs 27,168.83 crores to the banks.
  • Government has also opened up opportunities for entrepreneurship, starting from small grocery stores to dairy and food processing.
  • The beneficiaries will be given full freedom on how they like to utilize the amount without restrictions or compulsions.
  • The state government has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amul, Proctor, and Gamble, ITC and HUL so as to strengthen rural economy armed with YSR Aasara.

About Nava Ratnalu

This scheme was announced In the Andhra Pradesh Budget 2019-20. The primary focus is on enhancing the quality of life for its citizens through high-quality education and healthcare. It also aims to increase productivity in agriculture and allied activities and it also seeks to create Employment by promoting Electronics and IT.

As a whole, ensuring good governance to its people is the primary focus of the government. It contains 9 schemes under it:

  1. Jalayagnam, which is a irrigation projects in the Andhra Pradesh.
  2. Madhya Nishedam, which has been launched to put a ban on the sale of alcohol across the state.
  3. YSR Arogyasri Scheme which is healthcare scheme and would be applicable to all medical treatments above Rs 1,000.
  4. YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme which promises to offer financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 to farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
  5. Paydalandariki Illu for building 25 lakh homes for the poor people.
  6. YSR Asara to waive off all loans pertaining to the women cooperative societies.
  7. Pensionla Pempu under this all the senior citizens above the age of 60 years would be provided Rs. 2,250 and the physically challenged would be provided a pension of Rs 3,000.
  8. Amma Vodi Scheme which encourages families having school going children by proving Rs 15000.
  9. Fee Reimbursement scheme to provide a comprehensive fee reimbursement.
