Andaman’s first feature film to be shown on DD-I

• ‘Gandhi The Mahatma’: A feature film, shot and produced in islands.
  

It will be the first time in the history of Andaman and Nicobar Islands that a feature film, shot and produced in islands, will be telecast by Doordarshan’s National Channel, DD-I. The film will be telecasted on March 9, 2012.The film is produced and directed by Naresh Chander Lal, first National School of Drama graduate from Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Albeit Gandhiji never visited Andamans in his life but in the film it is shown that Gandhiji visits islands after his death, on his birth anniversary and interacts with a group of 4 children of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
