All India Survey on Migrant Workers

All India Survey on Migrant Workers is a pan India survey to estimate the number of migrant workers. It seeks to collect data on their living conditions, conditions at work and also other socio-economic conditions. It is to be conducted by the Labour Bureau under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. In February, the government announced 5 pan-India surveys including the migrant worker survey in light of the pandemic driven exodus of the migrants. Recently, the Labour Bureau signed a service level agreement with Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (under the Information and Broadcasting Ministry) to conduct the migrant workers survey.
