All India Police Science Congress organised in Lucknow
The 47th All India Police Science Congress (AIPSC) was organised from 28-29 November 2019, at Police Headquarters in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The chief guest for event was former cop and current Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi.
Key Highlights
Top officials from police, security and investigation agencies from every Indian state participated in 47th All India Police Science Congress. More than 120 teams participated from all states and Union Territories (UTs). Apart from police, central agencies such as CBI, CRPF and BSF also participated.
The event was organised by Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D). Uttar Pradesh is hosting this annual event after 22 years. The Congress focused on challenges in policing, and 5 other related topics which are need of the hour.
The conference was also attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah who called for major changes in penal acts like Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Arms Act and Narcotics Acts to strengthen internal security. He also called upon Police officers to participate in this process by giving their suggestions and seeking suggestions from junior personnel also who are going to implement these rules.
