Trailblazer in the Medical Branch

Air Marshal Padma Bandopadhyay made history as the first woman to attain the rank of Air Marshal in the medical branch of the IAF. Air Marshal Nair’s promotion now follows in her pioneering footsteps, further demonstrating the growing presence of women in senior leadership positions within the IAF.

From PMO to Director General Hospital Services

Before her promotion to Air Marshal, Sadhna S Nair served as the Principal Medical Officer (PMO) at HQ Training Command, IAF, holding the rank of Air Vice Marshal. Recently, she assumed the role of Director General Hospital Services, Armed Forces, showcasing her exceptional skills and commitment to the medical services within the military.

Decades of Dedication

Air Marshal Sadhna S Nair’s journey within the medical branch of the IAF began in December 1985. Over the years, she has excelled in her role as a Senior Medical Officer (SMO) at three different Air Force stations, contributing significantly to the health and well-being of IAF personnel.
