Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is an apex body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It is a statutory body established under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act passed by the Parliament in December, 1985.

Objectives

The primary objective of APEDA is to promote and develop exports of agricultural and processed food products from India. The organisation focuses on promoting the export of various products, including fruits and vegetables, meat and meat products, dairy products, confectionery, biscuits and bakery products, cereals, and miscellaneous processed foods.

APEDA provides comprehensive services to the agri-export community, including:

Organisational Structure

APEDA is headed by a Chairman, who is assisted by a Director General and other officials. APEDA also has representatives in key international markets to promote Indian agri-exports.
