Aarogya Setu team launches ‘Open API Service’ for better operation
India’s self-assessed digital healthcare service app Aarogya Setu has come up with a new feature called the Open API Service, which allows the organizations to check the health status of their employees or any other user as well without creating any privacy issue.
What is ‘Open API Service’?
An open API is a publicly available application programming interface that enables the app developers’ ultimate supremacy to the application or web service with programmatic access. APIs are sets of specifications that provide control to the apps to communicate and interact with another.
How Open API Service will benefit Arogya Setu?
- Only registered organizations with more than 50 employees will have access to the service.
- The service will provide real-time data regarding the health status of the employees if they give their consent.
- The businesses and economic organizations could integrate the system with the work from home guidelines.
Arogya Setu app
The app is developed by the National Informatics Centre under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to inform the user about contact tracing, syndromic mapping, and self-assessment to contain COVID-19.
