Mamta Sharma new NCW chief
- Former Rajasthan Mahila Congress president Mamta Sharma has been appointed as National Commission for Women chairperson.
- She has succeeded Ms Girija Vyas who demitted the office in the beginning of April.
- Ms Sharma was a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and president of Rajasthan State Women Congress Committee.
- Speaking on the occasion, she said, in order to build a healthy society, it is imperative to safeguard the interests of young girls, provide them with safe and healthy environment and bring about attitudinal changes in discriminatory attitudes.
