The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully launched India’s first reusable space shuttle “RLV-TD” from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.The purpose of Re-Usable Launch Vehicle – Technology Demonstrator (RLV-TD) is to put satellites into orbit around earth and then re-enter atmosphere. The 6.5 meter long RLV-TD has aeroplane like structure which weighs about 1.75 tons. The RLV-TD is a series of technology demonstration missions that have been considered as a first step towards realizing a Two Stage To Orbit (TSTO) fully re-usable vehicle. The cost of this project is Rs. 95 crore.
