The Kasaragod district has been declared by Kerala government as “Zero Landless District”. It is 2nd zero landless district, after Kannur. In Kasargod, all the targeted one lakh families in Kerala will own at least three cents (one acre is 100 cents) of land. In 2013, the zero landless scheme was launched to provide land for poor households.
