Proposed NHAI International

The Government has decided to set up a separate body NHAI International to venture into the road building business outside India. NHAI-International will have offices in several countries and will work as contractor mostly in the neighbour countries such as Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal as well as Iran.

The NHAI –International is an excellent idea and must be fast tracked by the government.  We note here that NHAI International will be based on the same model on which India’s railway companies IRCON, Railtel and RITES are working. These companies do construction and consultancy work aboard.
