- India is top producer in the world in Mango, Banana & Papaya. (FAO 2009)
- The largest area in India is under Mango production, followed by Citrus and Banana.
- The Largest Production in India is of Banana followed by Mango.

Andhra Pradesh is India’s Largest Food Producing State in 2008-09. The following graphic shows share of states in India’s Food Production:
The largest fruits producing states in India are Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra and Tamil Nadu with 19%, 18% and 13% share. However, in area wise, Maharastra leads all the states of the country with 24% area share in Fruit Production.
