Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
On International Women’s Day 2025, the newly elected BJP government in Delhi launched the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. This scheme aims to provide financial support to women from economically weaker sections. Each eligible woman will receive ₹2,500 monthly. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment made during the elections to enhance women’s economic stability.

Registration Process

Implementation Committee
A committee has been formed to oversee the scheme’s implementation. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will lead this committee. It includes three ministers – Kapil Mishra, Ashish Sood, and Pravesh Verma. They will establish the criteria for eligibility and ensure the scheme runs smoothly.
Significance of the Scheme
The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a major step towards promoting gender equality. It aims to provide economic empowerment to women. This initiative is expected to improve the living standards of women from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Previous Cabinet Decisions
In addition to the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, the Cabinet has made other decisions. The implementation of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme in Delhi was also approved. Furthermore, 14 pending CAG reports were discussed in the first session of the eighth Assembly.
