It gathers global leaders, experts, and decision-makers to shape the future of governments. The summit’s theme is “Shaping Future Governments.” It is organized by a non-governmental organization founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2013.

Notes:
The state plans to build a village for tribals in the buffer zone of Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, raising safety and wildlife conflict concerns. Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Western Ghats, Kodagu district, Karnataka. It spans 181 sq. km and is named after Brahmagiri peak, which stands at 1,607m. The Lakshmana Tirtha River, a tributary of the Cauvery River, originates in the sanctuary.

Notes:
The Crocodile Catfish was recently discovered in the Bahini River, Guwahati, raising ecological concerns. It is one of the largest freshwater catfish species in Asia, found in countries like India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. It can grow over 1.5 meters and weigh more than 50 kg, with a dark body and broad head. Its conservation status is listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj released the Devolution Index Report on 13th February 2025 at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi. The Index assesses decentralization progress across States and Union Territories. It evaluates six key dimensions: Framework, Functions, Finances, Functionaries, Capacity Building, and Accountability. It examines Panchayats’ autonomy in decision-making under Article 243G of the Constitution. The Index strengthens cooperative federalism and local governance. It aids citizens, representatives, and officials in tracking Panchayat performance. It aligns with Viksit Bharat, promoting rural transformation and sustainable development.

A University of Birmingham study found that vancomycin, an antibiotic for diarrhea, may treat a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) linked to autoimmune liver disease. Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic used for severe bacterial infections like MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and C. difficile-associated diarrhea. It treats infections in the bloodstream, skin, heart valves, bones, and joints. It does not work against viral infections like colds or flu. Vancomycin kills bacteria by preventing proper cell wall formation, making them weak and leading to their death.
