ISAM’s 63rd Annual Conference in Bengaluru
The Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ISAM) is hosting its 63rd annual conference, which takes place at the Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM) in Bengaluru from December 5 to 7, 2024. The conference focuses on both military and civil aerospace medicine and also addresses human factors in India’s space flight programme.
Background of ISAM
ISAM was established in 1952 and is the only registered society in India dedicated to aerospace medicine. Since 1954, ISAM has organised annual scientific conferences. These conferences aim to advance research and share knowledge in aeromedical science.
Conference Theme
The theme for this year is “Collaborate for Research.” This theme marks the importance of partnerships in aviation and space medicine, and encourages cooperation and collective problem-solving in research and development. The conference will be inaugurated by Air Marshal SP Dharkar. He serves as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff. The inauguration occurs on December 5, 2024.
Attendance and Format
Around 300 participants are expected to attend. The conference will have both in-person and virtual attendees. Participants include experts from military and civil aviation, as well as researchers from various institutions.
The conference will feature over 100 scientific papers. These papers will provide opportunities for discussions and presentations. Networking will also be encouraged to shape the future of aerospace medicine research and policy in India.
