91st General Council of NCDC

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah recently addressed the 91st General Council meeting of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) in New Delhi. Amit Shah called for a “White Revolution 2.0.” This initiative targets milk cooperative unions, especially in the North Eastern States. The goal is to enhance milk production through collaboration between the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and NCDC.

Empowering Communities

The proposed collaboration will establish milk producers’ associations. NDDB will manage initial production phases. NCDC will provide necessary financial backing. This initiative aims to empower tribal communities and women involved in dairy farming.

Cab Cooperative Society Service

Shah proposed an app-based Cab Cooperative Society Service. This service aims to ensure profits directly benefit drivers. It seeks to create a sustainable model for transport services within cooperatives.

National Cooperative Database

A National Cooperative Database is essential for connecting cooperative societies. This database will enhance communication and resource sharing among various cooperatives.

Strengthening Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) is crucial. These societies play a vital role in providing financial support to farmers. Enhanced PACS will lead to improved agricultural financing.

Five-Year Plan for Sugar Mills

A five-year plan has been proposed to boost sugar mills’ financial capabilities. The target is to increase funding to ₹25,000 crore. This plan aims to stabilise and grow the sugar industry effectively.
