PM Modi Honored with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ‘Global Peace Award’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Global Peace Award, which recognizes his efforts toward inclusive development. It was presented jointly by Washington Adventist University and AIAM. The award specifically acknowledges his work for minority upliftment. The Association of Indian American Minorities (AIAM) was launched recently, which aims to unite and support minority communities within the Indian American diaspora. The event took place at the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church in Maryland.

Leadership and Board of Directors

Jasdip Singh is the Founder and Chairman of AIAM, who is a prominent Sikh philanthropist. The organization has a seven-member Board of Directors. This board represents various Indian minority groups. Members include Baljinder Singh and Dr. Sukhpal Dhanoa (Sikhs), Pawan Bezwada and Elisha Pulivarti (Christians), Dipak Thakker (Hindu), Juned Qazi (Muslim), and Nissim Reuben (Indian Jewish).

Vision for a Developed India

In his speech, Jasdip Singh outlined AIAM’s objectives. The organization supports PM Modi’s vision for a “Developed India” by 2047. Singh praised India’s inclusive approach under Modi’s leadership. He emphasised the importance of equal opportunities for all communities.

Satnam Singh Sandhu, a Member of Parliament, also addressed the attendees. He brought into light India’s progress under PM Modi. Sandhu praised the “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” policy. This policy aims for development that includes everyone, eliminating favoritism and ensuring harmony.
