Bhu-Neer Portal

The Bhu-Neer portal was launched on September 19, 2024, and aims to enhance groundwater management in India. It was introduced during the India Water Week 2024 closing event and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil inaugurated the platform.

The Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) developed the portal. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) assisted in its creation. Bhu-Neer replaces the older NOCAP system. It features a single ID system linked to the user’s PAN. This simplifies the application process for permits.
