Nepal-India Border Security Meeting Commences
A high-level meeting on border security has started in Kathmandu focused on managing cross-border crime and preventing the illegal entry of third-country nationals.
Objectives of the Meeting
The meeting aims to improve crime control at the Nepal-India border, which seeks to enhance information sharing between the two nations. Key issues include revenue loss, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and unauthorized entry of foreign citizens.
Delegation Details
The Indian delegation is led by Amrit Mohan Prasad, the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The team includes six senior officials. They are engaging with a Nepali team of high-ranking officials.
Nepali Officials Involved
The Nepali team includes Armed Police Force (APF) Chief Aryal. It also consists of representatives from the Home Ministry, National Investigation Department, Survey Department, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Sunday, the Indian delegation met with Nepal’s Home Minister, Ramesh Lekhak. This meeting took place at Singh Durbar. Minister Lekhak emphasised the need for dignity and respect for citizens crossing the border.

Minister Lekhak brought into light the long-standing relationship between Nepal and India. He stated that such meetings are crucial for strengthening bilateral ties. The discussions aim to encourage cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
