PM Modi to Inaugurate Mumbai Metro Line 3 in Maharashtra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming tour to Maharashtra is a major development event for the state’s infrastructure. He will inaugurate the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3, which is the city’s first fully underground metro line. Along with this, he will also launch several projects aimed at improving urban living and supporting farmers.
Inauguration of Mumbai Metro Line 3
The Mumbai Metro Line 3 is a new metro line in the city that stretches over 12.69 kilometers. The Prime Minister will open a part of this line between Aarey JVLR and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). He will officially start the service with a flag-off ceremony at the BKC metro station. As part of the event, he will also take a ride on the metro to experience it firsthand.
Community Engagement
During his metro ride, PM Modi will interact with various people, such as students and workers, who will benefit from the new metro line. This interaction will emphasize how the metro can make daily travel easier for people living and working in the city.
Along with the inauguration, a new mobile app called MetroConnect3 will be launched. This app is designed to make the passenger experience smoother, helping people navigate and use the metro system more efficiently.
PM Modi will also unveil a coffee table book that visually captures the development of Mumbai’s underground metro. This book will feature pictures and stories that show how the project has evolved.
Agricultural Initiatives
In addition to infrastructure projects, PM Modi will provide financial support to farmers by distributing the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, which is a financial assistance program for farmers. About Rs 20,000 crore will be distributed to 9.4 crore farmers in this round. This will raise the total amount disbursed under the scheme to Rs 3.45 lakh crore.
Infrastructure Development Projects
Several new projects will be launched to help farmers, including:
- Inaugurating projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, which supports better farm infrastructure.
- Launching 9,200 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to help farmers work together and improve their incomes.
- Introducing new agricultural technologies to modernize farming practices.
PM Modi will also focus on sustainable energy by dedicating five solar parks in Maharashtra. These solar parks will contribute to the state’s use of clean and renewable energy.
Urban Development Projects
Several important urban development projects will be announced, including:
- The foundation stone for the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, which will improve traffic flow.
- The Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, which will help plan urban growth around the upcoming Navi Mumbai Airport.
- A new administrative building for Thane Municipal Corporation, which will improve governance and services for the city of Thane.
These projects are part of a broader effort to improve both urban infrastructure and agricultural support in Maharashtra.
