FCI Launches Digital Transformation with ANNA DARPAN Initiative
The Food Corporation of India (FCI) is making big changes with a digital transformation plan as part of its 100 Days Achievements program. This plan is focused on improving the way FCI manages the supply chain with a new system called ANNA DARPAN.
What is ANNA DARPAN?
ANNA DARPAN is a new digital platform that will replace FCI’s old system, the Depot Online System. It uses advanced technology to make managing food supply chains (like mandis, mills, and depots) smoother and more efficient.
What are the Goals of ANNA DARPAN?
The ANNA DARPAN project aims to:
Improve Efficiency and Productivity: Make the whole process faster and more effective.
Create a User-Friendly Design: The system will be easy to use for everyone involved.
Use Data for Better Decisions: Analytics will help make smarter choices based on data.
Integrate with Other Systems: ANNA DARPAN will work well with other applications, both inside and outside FCI.
Merge Current Systems: The new system will combine existing platforms to avoid duplication.
Support Mobile Access: It will be accessible on mobile devices, making it easier for users to work on the go.
How is ANNA DARPAN Being Built?
A company called Coforge Limited has been chosen to design, develop, and maintain ANNA DARPAN. They will create a cloud-based platform and ensure smooth communication between different parts of the system.
Current Development Phase
Coforge and FCI’s IT team are studying FCI’s operations. They are visiting field offices and gathering information to understand how the system should work. When ANNA DARPAN is fully implemented, it will improve how FCI operates, especially in managing food distribution. This will lead to better services for the public and a more effective supply chain system in India.
