Himachal Govt to allocate Rs 53 cr for ‘Mukhya Mantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana’
The Himachal Pradesh government has introduced the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana.’ This scheme allocates Rs 53.21 crore every year to help vulnerable families. The main focus is on supporting widows, destitute women, divorced women, and parents with disabilities.
Who will benefit from this initiative?
The program is aimed at two main groups:
- Women who are in difficult situations, such as widows, divorced women, or those without support.
- Parents who have disabilities and have children.
What kind of financial support is provided?
Eligible families will receive:
- A monthly grant of Rs 1,000 for each child under 18 years. This money can be used to cover education, health, and nutrition needs.
- Extra financial aid for children who are enrolling in undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, or vocational courses to help with tuition and hostel fees.
The program recognizes the difficulties faced by women and disabled parents in providing for their children’s education and basic needs. It understands that disabilities, unemployment, and poverty are interconnected issues, and it aims to ease these challenges.
Who is eligible to apply?
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must:
- Be a widow, divorced, or destitute woman, or a parent with a disability.
- Have a family income of Rs 1 lakh or less per year.
Applications can be submitted to the local Child Development Project Officer. This process is designed to make it easier for eligible families to access the support they need. The scheme aims to create a supportive environment so that vulnerable families can provide their children with the education and care they need for a dignified life.
