Rajbhasha Gaurav Samman 2023-24 Award

Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in Visakhapatnam were recently praised by the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) for their work to promote Hindi. The “Rajbhasha Gaurav Samman” awards for 2023–24 were given out at an event put on by NTPC.

Award Categories

TOLIC awarded prizes across three categories based on performance in the implementation of Hindi:

Category I:

HPCL-Visakha Refinery (First Prize),
NTPC Simhadri (Second Prize),
Airport Authority of India (Third Prize).

Category II:

GAIL (First Prize),
HPCL-Visakha Regional Office (Second Prize),
SAIL – Branch Transport & Shipping Office (Third Prize)
FCI-Regional Office receiving a Consolation Prize.

Category III:

MSTC First Prize,
HPCL LPG in Second,
ECGC in Third.

Official Recognitions and Commentary

Atul Bhatt, Chairman of TOLIC and Chief Executive Officer of RINL, praised the committee’s work and the rise in Hindi use in the area. He also told the PSUs concerned that they should be proud of winning the 2022–23 Regional Official Language Award.

Government Guidelines and Hindi Training

Anirban Kumar Biswas, who is Deputy Director (Implementation) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, looked at how well member organizations were doing. He stressed following the government’s rules for putting Official Language plans into action. Dr. Rita Trivedi from the Hindi Teaching Scheme talked about the area resources for learning Hindi and encouraged member organizations to use them.

About Rajbhasha Gaurav Samman

The ‘Rajbhasha Gaurav Samman’ is an award initiated by the Indian government to promote Hindi and regional languages. Established in 1986, it recognizes outstanding contributions to the use of Hindi in various sectors including administration. The award is conferred annually on individuals and organizations. It aims to encourage the use of Hindi and improve linguistic diversity. The award features a citation and a cash prize. Recipients include institutions from both public and private sectors.
