ISRO Extends Support to Boost India’s Space Startup Ecosystem
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has recently started to help the country’s business space industry grow. This became clear after the successful launch of Agnibaan SOrTeD into suborbital space by the Indian start-up M/s Agnikul Cosmos. ISRO gave a lot of technical help and shared its knowledge, showing that it wants to help the country build a strong space economy.
Technical Assistance for Agnibaan Mission
The Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR) of ISRO was very important to the Agnibaan mission. They helped choose a good location for the suborbital flight and set up the launchpad and control centre and gave their help. The launch pad, control centre, and ISRO’s main control centre were all connected to a strong network at this spot for data and communication. SDSC SHAR also made safety plans and made sure that all operations were done quickly and carefully. This included coordinating launch clearances and sending out Notices to Airmen (NOTAM). They also helped with logistics and sent important information for planning flights and setting launch standards.
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre’s Involvement
The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) helped by sharing its expertise in several areas. As part of this, they helped test the semi-cryogenic engine for 15 seconds at high temperatures and did sound tests on the launch vehicle’s frame between its tanks. VSSC not only offered a complete Flight Termination System, but they also ensured that the mission design was thoroughly checked and approved, and they helped with assembly and on-site integration during different stages of the launch campaign.
Telemetry and Tracking Support by ISTRAC
The ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) was also very important to this project. A Memorandum of Understanding with Agnikul Cosmos allowed it to help with tracking and data. ISTRAC’s ground units at Sriharikota were very important for testing, integrating, and tracking in real-time. They made Vehicle Data Acquisition software to help them handle and show the real-time data flow well. The ground stations tracked and helped with the launch in real-time on the day of the launch, making sure it went well.
