California Town Campo Listed For Sale At $6.6 Million
Campo is a small town in California. Its owner, Las Vegas real estate investor John Ray, has put it up for sale for $6.6 million. The sale includes more than 20 buildings, both residential and business, and is close to the Mexican border, about 50 miles southeast of San Diego.
Composition of the Sale
There are different kinds of buildings for sale in Campo, such as apartments, single-family homes, and business spaces. Along with a Baptist church, a U.S. Post Office, a Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter, a metal shop, a cabinet shop, a lumber shop, and a Border Patrol station, Campo is home to several businesses.
Historical Background
Campo has historical value as a military town, especially during World War II. It was first settled in the 1800s. There are now about 100 people living in the town, and they all rent from Mr. Ray. He bought most of the town in 2000 and has been in charge of it ever since.
Motivation for Sale and Ideal Buyer
According to Nick Hernandez, the selling agent from Top Gun CRE, the main reason for the sale is the desire to make the properties make more money. Mr. Ray has said that he wants to give the town’s management to someone with a new perspective who is ready to bring Campo back to life while taking into account the needs and wants of the people who live there now.
