Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured with the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award on April 24, 2024. The Mangeshkar family instituted the award in memory of the late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away on February 6, 2022. The award recognizes individuals who have made path-breaking contributions to the nation, its people, and society.

The Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award, also known as the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar, is a prestigious honor instituted by the Mangeshkar family and trust in memory of the legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar. The award recognizes individuals who have made path-breaking contributions to the nation, its people, and society. It is presented annually on April 24, the memorial day of Lata Mangeshkar’s father and theatre-music veteran Deenanath Mangeshkar.

About Amitabh Bachchan

  • Amitabh Bachchan, born on October 11, 1942, is a legendary Indian actor, film producer, and television host. He first gained popularity in the early 1970s for his roles in films such as “Zanjeer” (1973) and “Sholay” (1975).
