National Creators Award

On Friday, March 8, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the inaugural National Creators Award at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The awards were given to recognize young talent across 20 categories, including storytelling, social change advocacy, environmental sustainability, education, gaming, and more.

Award Categories and Winners

Over 1.5 lakh nominations were received across 20 categories, with approximately 10 lakh votes cast for digital creators. The awards recognized skills, excellence, and impact across various domains. Some notable winners include:

  1. Best Creator for Social Change: Jaya Kishori
  2. Best International Creator: Drew Hicks
  3. Disruptor of the Year: Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps)
  4. Celebrity Creator of the Year: Aman Gupta
  5. Favourite Travel Creator: Kamiya Jani
  6. Best Creator in Food Category: Kabita Singh (Kabita’s Kitchen)
  7. Most Creative Creator (Male): RJ Raunac (Bauaa)
  8. Most Creative Creator (Female): Shraddha Jain
  9. Heritage Fashion Icon Award: Jahnvi Singh
  10. Swachhta Ambassador Award: Malhar Kalambe

Encouraging “Create on India” Movement

During the event, PM Modi urged digital content creators to showcase India’s culture and heritage through their content. He called for a “Create on India” movement, encouraging creators to share India’s story with the world and engage with a global audience.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of adapting to changing times and fulfilling the country’s responsibility in doing so. He highlighted that the Bharat Mandapam, where the G20 was organized, is now hosting discussions on creating India’s future.

Celebrating Women’s Contributions

Coinciding with International Women’s Day, PM Modi praised the rise of women and their contributions to India’s economy. He noted that several award winners were women and acknowledged the significant economic activity performed by women in villages, tribal belts, and mountain areas.

India’s Leadership in Fashion

While presenting the “Heritage Fashion Icon Award” to Jahnvi Singh, PM Modi asserted that India has been a leader in the world of fashion. He mentioned a statue in Konark that depicts fashionable women wearing mini skirts and carrying purses, showcasing the country’s ancient knowledge of fashion.

Recognizing Talent and Impact

PM Modi commended the content creators’ talent and the significant impact their work has on the country, referring to them as the “internet’s MVP” (Most Valuable Person).
