Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023

India is set to host the Annual GPAI Summit from December 12-14, 2023. The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) aims to bridge the gap between AI theory and practice through research and applied activities. The summit will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The event will bring together senior government delegations, multi-stakeholder experts, and global AI innovators.

AI Gamechangers Award: Recognizing Innovation

As part of the summit, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will organize the AI Gamechangers Award, recognizing and awarding innovative AI solutions in diverse fields. The AI Gamechangers Award is a prestigious event highlighting AI entrepreneurs and innovators. The call for applications, spanning from September 12th to November 15th, 2023, witnessed an overwhelming response from startups. A Review Committee, comprising government, civil society, academia, and industry members, selected the top 10 startups after evaluating their innovative solutions. These startups showcased advancements in safe and secure AI development across various sectors.

Top 10 Startups and Their Innovations

The selected startups include Areete Business Solutions, DronaMaps, Genrobotic Innovations, NAYAN India Science and Technologies, Neodocs Healthcare, Newzera Tech Labs, Qure ai Technologies, SarvDeepcall (Naam), Tarisa Technologies, and Titodi Infotech (KissanAI). Their innovations range from IoT solutions for dairy farming, command and control center solutions with AI and drones, to AI-enhanced robotic gait rehabilitators and smartphone-based AI tests. These startups address challenges in diverse areas such as healthcare, agriculture, and information dissemination.

Showcasing Transformative Ideas

The final 10 startups will showcase their solutions during the AI Gamechangers event on December 14, 2023. This provides them with a platform to present their transformative ideas before a distinguished panel of jurors and a global audience from GPAI member countries, the European Union, and leading AI experts. The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s commitment to supporting tech entrepreneurs by offering exposure, recognition, and guidance.

GPAI’s Mission

GPAI, launched in June 2020, is a multi-stakeholder initiative with a mission to advance AI-related priorities. India, as a founding member and the incoming Support Chair of GPAI, plays a significant role in driving the summit and recognizing groundbreaking AI solutions. The event represents a collaborative effort to foster innovation, ethical AI practices, and global partnerships in the field of artificial intelligence.
