Sankalp Saptaah
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate a unique week-long initiative, ‘Sankalp Saptaah,’ on September 30, 2023, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The program is closely aligned with the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP), a nationwide effort aimed at enhancing governance and the quality of life in 500 Aspirational Blocks spanning 329 districts across India.
The Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP)
The ABP, initiated on January 7, 2023, is a comprehensive endeavor designed to strengthen governance at the block level, ultimately benefiting citizens. It sought to craft robust block development strategies through chintan shivirs conducted at village and block levels across the nation. ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ represents the culmination of these thoughtful deliberations.
Seven Days, Seven Themes
During ‘Sankalp Saptaah,’ observed across all 500 Aspirational Blocks, each day from October 3rd to October 9th, 2023, will be dedicated to a specific development theme actively addressed by all Aspirational Blocks. The first six days will focus on themes such as ‘Sampoorna Swasthya,’ ‘Suposhit Pariwaar,’ ‘Swachhta,’ ‘Krishi,’ ‘Shiksha,’ and ‘Samridhi Diwas.’ The concluding day, October 9, 2023, will celebrate the collective achievements of the entire week, marked as ‘Sankalp Saptaah – Samavesh Samaroh.’
National Participation
The inaugural event at Bharat Mandapam anticipates the participation of approximately 3,000 panchayat and block-level people’s representatives and functionaries from across the country. Moreover, about two lakh individuals, including block and panchayat-level functionaries, farmers, and representatives from diverse walks of life, will virtually join the program.
