Arogya Manthan 2023

The National Health Authority (NHA), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is hosting ‘Arogya Manthan’ to commemorate five years of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and two years of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). This two-day event, taking place on September 25th and 26th, 2023, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, will feature in-depth discussions and deliberations on the challenges, trends, and best practices associated with these two transformative healthcare initiatives. The event will witness active participation from policymakers from States and Union Territories, national healthcare experts, representatives from academia, think-tanks, industry, and media.

Achievements of Ayushman Bharat Health Schemes

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, launched on September 23, 2018, has made a significant impact by providing 5.5 Crore free hospitalizations worth Rs. 69,000 Crore. It has ensured good health for millions of underprivileged families while shielding them from catastrophic healthcare expenses.

ABDM, initiated on September 27, 2021, aims to create a digital ecosystem connecting various stakeholders in healthcare. In two years, it has generated over 45 Crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) and linked more than 30 Crore health records to these accounts. The scheme harnesses digital technologies to bolster healthcare delivery.

Both flagship healthcare schemes are geared toward delivering accessible, available, affordable, and scalable healthcare to realize the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in India.
