Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Meeting

The Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Meeting is scheduled to be held in Mumbai from September 14 to 16, 2023. Delegates from more than 50 G20 member countries, special invitees, and international organizations will gather to discuss the ongoing financial inclusion agenda under the G20 India Presidency, with a particular focus on Digital Financial Inclusion and SME Finance.

Pre-Meeting Symposium

On September 14, a pre-meeting Symposium took place, centered on “Digital Public Infrastructure for Energizing MSMEs.” This symposium featured panel discussions led by global experts, covering themes such as “Energizing MSMEs for Higher Economic Growth through Digital Public Infrastructure” and “Credit Guarantees and SME Ecosystems.” The symposium aims to explore the role of Digital Public Infrastructure in accelerating the financial inclusion of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Meeting Highlights

During the GPFI meeting, members will delve into various topics, including the implementation of G20 GPFI High-Level Principles for Digital Financial Inclusion, updates on National Remittance Plans, and the exploration of innovative instruments to address common challenges in SME financing.

Symposium on September 16

A Symposium on “Advancing Financial Inclusion through Digital Public Infrastructure” will be held on September 16, 2023, with a particular focus on consumer empowerment through digital and financial literacy, as well as consumer protection.

Additional Activity

In addition to the meetings and symposiums, delegates attending the GPFI meeting will have the opportunity to visit the Kanheri Caves in Mumbai.
