The Meities are the largest ethnic group of Manipur. The recent clash at various regions in Manipur is attributed to the long-standing tensions between Meitei community and the state’s hill tribes.
The unrest in Manipur state erupted on Wednesday after a protest march organised by the Kuki tribal group sparked clashes with the Meitei non-tribal group.

The Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to provide Rs.1,500 each month to all women aged 18 to 60 years in Spiti valley as Indira Gandhi Mahila Samman Nidhi.
The eligible women include Chhomos/nuns. The cabinet also gave its nod to introduce e-stamping in the State for the collection of stamp duty to promote ease of doing business.

Petersberg Climate Dialogue is an annual forum that took place in the month of May this year, ahead of the UN Climate Conferences.
It is a high-level political and international forum. This year, PCD series was co-hosted in Berlin by Germany and the United Arab Emirates – the incoming COP28-Presidency.
