Odisha Budget 2023-24
The Odisha State Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented a budget of Rs 2.3 lakh crores in the assembly. According to the minister, Odisha is one of the few states in the county to become revenue surplus in 2023-24. The Government is to keep Rs 94,000 crores under its control. As compared to 2022-23, the state government increased its programme expenditure by 25%.

Observation
The budget of Odisha was evenly spread. All the sectors received equal importance. On the other hand, the budget of UP and the budget of Gujarat focused more on road construction and infrastructural-related developments. Though the budget of Odisha was less as compared to several BJP-ruled states, the budget was in equity. Importance was given to the development of SC and ST, education, agriculture, and disaster management.
