Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: PM inaugurates first stretch
The Sohna-Dausa stretch in the Delhi-Mumbai expressway was recently inaugurated by PM Modi. With this, the travel time between Sohna in Haryana and Dausa in Rajasthan will be reduced to 2.5 hours. Earlier it was 5 hours. The distance between Sohna and Dausa is 246 km. This stretch is an alternate for the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway.
About the Sohna-Dausa stretch
It will pass through Gurugram, Palwal, and Nuh districtirs. The stretch will cover more than 11 major villages of Guru gram; 47 villages in Nuh, and 7 villages in Palwal. It will be connected with Mumbai – Delhi expressway. The connections are to be established near the stretches between DND And Jaipur; and on the connection between Jaitpur and Ballabhargh.
World Record
During the construction of this, a world record was achieved. The highest quality of dense bitumen was applied to a 50-km stretch in just 100 hours!
Safe Corridors
The expressway is the first in the Asian continent to include safe corridors for the movement of wildlife.
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
It is 1,350 km long and is under construction. It was started in 2019, Total project cost including land acquisition is 13.1 billion USD. With this, the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai will be reduced to 12 hours. Now the travel time between the two metropolitan cities is 12 hours.
