Every year UNICEF Day is celebrated on December 11. UNICEF was originally called the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund and now officially called as United Nations Children’s Fund.
After World War II, the United Nations formed the International Children’s Emergency Fund to provide with humanitarian aid for the well-being of the children whose future was at risk. It also defends children’s rights and helps them fulfil their potential.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin launched the Tamil Nadu Climate Change Mission to protect the natural resources in the state as well as to restore them.
The State’s Climate Action Plan will be implemented by the Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company (TNGCC). Tamil Nadu has decided to stop any additions to its existing coal power capacity as the mission sought to generate half of electricity through renewable sources by 2030.

UN General Assembly declared 2002 as the UN International Year of Mountains and designated 11 December, as “International Mountain Day” from 2003 onwards.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is the coordinating agency for this celebration (IMD). ‘Women Move Mountains’ is the theme of this year’s International Mountain Day. International Mountain Day 2022 raises awareness about the need to empower mountain women.

The two-day-long National conclave of Universal Health Coverage was organised in Varanasi, by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya launched operational guidelines for AB-HWCs, Tele-MANAS along with training modules for CHOs and SASHAKT portal at the inaugural ceremony. He also felicitated Best Performing States/UTs.

Bengaluru is the host of the first G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting from December 13 to 15.
The G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting is jointly hosted by the Finance Ministry and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The meeting will mark the start of discussions on the Finance Track agenda under the Indian G20 presidency. The Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting will be held in Bengaluru during February 23-25 2023.
