‘Indian Agriculture Towards 2030’ Book

A book titled “Indian Agriculture towards 2030: Pathways for Enhancing Farmers’ Income, Nutritional Security and Sustainable Food and Farm Systems,” was released by Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare at an event that was organized by NITI Aayog and the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

  • This book highlights the outcomes of the national dialogue that is being facilitated by FAO since 2019 between the Ministries of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare; and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and NITI Aayog.
  • NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and a member of NITI Aayog Professor Ramesh Chand attended this event.
  • Professor Ramesh Chand is one of the book’s editors.

This book also includes a foreword by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. An introduction has also been written by Tomio Shichiri who is the former FAO Representative in India.

National Dialogue

From 19th to 22nd January 2021, the national dialogue was organized. Under this dialogue, the government’s efforts for designing a post-Green Revolution future for India wherein nutritional targets can be enhanced by the agri-food systems, enhancement of livelihoods, and safeguarding of ecological and human health were complemented.
