70 year reign of Queen Elizabeth
Queen Elizabeth of England is to celebrate 70 years of throne on February 6, 2022. She is 95 years old.

The queen ascended to the throne on February 8, 1952 officially. Her father George VI died on February 6, 1952. She inherited the throne at the age of 25. If the queen is still on throne till June 12, 2022, she will beat the record set by King Bhumibol of Thailand.
Grand celebrations
The platinum jubilee is to be celebrated in the common wealth of nations. These are 54 member states. Most of them are former territories of British. India is also a member. The other members are Canada, Australia, Pakistan, Canada, Bangladesh, etc. For the first time, the jubilee Becaons are to be lit in the capital city of all the common wealth nations. In 2017, the queen marked the Sapphire Jubilee that is 65 years of reign.
Other longest reigns in the world
The other two world longest known reigns are Louis XIV of France and King Bhumibol of Thailand. Louis was called the “Sun King”. He ruled France in 17th century. He ruled for 72 years between 1643 and 1715. Louis ascended to the throne at the age of four. Bhumibol ruled Thailand in the name of Rama IX. He ruled between 1946 and 2016. He died at the age of 88.
Franz Joseph
Emperor Franz Joseph ruled Austria for 68 years. He ruled between 1848 and 1916. He was a powerful ruler of Habsurg dynasty. Many blame him as the reason of world war I.
Queen Victoria
Queen Victoria was the great great grandmother of Queen Elizabeth. She ruled for 64 years between 1837 and 1901. The British empire was at its peak during her rule. Her rule was named as the Victorian age.
Emperor Hirohito of Japan
He ruled Japan for 62 years. He died at the age of 87 in 1989.
