eGCA

eGCA is e – Governance for Civil Aviation. It was launched in November 2021 by the Minster of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia.

What is eGCA?

  • The eGCA is an online platform that provides 298 services including pilot licensing. It is implemented by the Director General of Civil Aviation.
  • The eGCA also provides end – to – end solution that includes software applications and connectivity with the regional offices.
  • It aims to improve the transparency and accountability across all the functions of Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
  • The eGCA was developed by the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

How is eGCA implemented?

With eGCA, 70% of the works of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) are transferred online in the starting phases. Later the remaining 198 services will be moved online.

What are the benefits of eGCA?

The eGCA helps to improve the ease of doing business. It will add value to the safety regulatory of DGCA. It will eliminate operational inefficiencies, improve personal interaction, regulatory reporting, increase productivity and enhance transparency.

What are the key features of eGCA?

  • The eGCA will provide services offered through DGCA stakeholders such as air traffic controllers, air operators, airport operators, flying training organizations, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, flying training organisations, etc.
  • The licenses and approvals will be provided online through eGCA. The eGCA allows applicants to upload their documents online.
  • The eGCA allows the aircraft maintenance engineers and pilots to view and update their data on the go.
  • With eGCS the medical clearances can be done in two to three days. Usually, it takes at least a month.
