N11

N stands for Next. These are the eleven countries (Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Turkey, South Korea, and Vietnam) identified by Goldman Sachs investment bank and economist Jim O’Neill as having a possibility of becoming the world’s largest economies in the 21st century along with the BRICs. This was another identification of Goldman Sachs after coining the acronym BRIC in 2003 for emerging economic countries. As per the observation, although varied both geographically and economically, these 11 countries have features such rising demographic dividend, demand based consumer patterns, evolving technology etc. in common that are believed to single out their high economic potential.
