Nadalal Bose, a disciple of Abanindranath Tagore was the great painter of Bengal school of art. He was principal of the Kala Bhawan, Shanti Niketan in 1922. He was influenced by the Tagore family and the murals of Ajanta. Most of his paintings have scenes from Indian mythologies, women, and village life. Due to influence of Rabindranath Tagore, he was invited to decorate the Congress sessions at Lucknow, Faizpur and Haripura.
