Dead Sea Scrolls

Dead Sea scrolls or Qumran Cave scrolls are a collection of religious manuscripts that were discovered in desert caves in West Bank above Dead Sea. Between 1947 and 1956, some 900 manuscripts bearing Jewish texts dating back to a period between 3^rd century BC and the 1^st century AD. These scrolls bear some of the earliest copies of Biblical texts. Recently, fragments of 2,000 year old scrolls bearing Greek texts were discovered in the Judean Desert.
