INS Shardul

INS Shardul is an amphibious warship of the Indian Navy. It was built indigenously by the GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers) in Kolkata and commissioned into service in 2007. The vessel is capable of transporting battle tanks and an integral helicopter in addition to troops. The vessel was involved in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in the past, such as in the Operation Samudra Setu in March 2020. Recently, the vessel arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius as part of Mauritius National Day celebrations.
