Hardit Singh Malik

Hardit Singh Malik was an early 20th century Sikh fighter pilot who is considered as a war hero in the UK. He served as a member of the Royal Flying Corp and came to be known as the ‘Flying Sikh’ during the World War I. UK has approved the design for a sculpture of Malik as a memorial to honour Indians who fought in the two World Wars. The memorial is to be sculpted by Luke Perry, an English sculptor and is to be installed in Southampton, a port city.
