Ayurveda which has decended from the last of four Vedas the Atharva Veda is an ancient Indian system of medicine which is based on natural and herbal remedies. Having enjoyed the presence of 3000 years in India and getting widespread acceptance and assimilation in the cultural ethos of Indian society, Ayurveda has found its suitable place in 2014. Jasola, in New Delhi will get its first referral –cum-teaching facility on the same lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The institution will be known as All India Institute of Ayurveda will be spread over 10 acres with a built-in area of 40,000 square feet.

Union government has invested Rs. 157 crores on the institute which will be both a treatment facility and a teaching centre. It will also have a research wing which will handle projects to ensure better quality and viability of ayurvedic products. The institute will offer post-graduation and super-specialization options to the students. This is rightful and deserving honor to one of the most revered form of traditional Indian medicine.
