Food Waste Index

Food Waste Index is a report from the United Nations Environment Program to assess the prevalence of food wastage across the world. The 2021 report found that 17% of all food available in 2019, at the consumer level was wasted. Simultaneously, some 690 million people went hungry. The report noted that the problem of food wastage is global and it is substantial irrespective of the income levels.
