Municipal performance index

Municipal performance index is an assessment tool that was launched as an accompaniment to the ease of living index. It assesses the local governance practices at the municipality-level and covers 20 sectors such as health, education, human resource, digital governance etc. while the EoLI focuses on the outcomes of an indicator, the MPI focuses on the factors behind the outcomes. In the MPI 2020, Indore, Surat and Bhopal were the top performers in the million plus category while New Delhi, Tirupati and Gandhinagar topped the less than million category.vernance
