Right of Self-defence

Right of self-defence is a right acknowledged by the article 51 of the UN Charter. Under this article, nothing in the UN Charter shall impair the right of self-defence (both individual and collective) in case of an armed attack. Recently, India held that this right is not confined to self-defence in case of an attack by another state. This right also applies in case of an attack by non-state actors.
