Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard Harbour

An agreement was recently signed by India and Maldives to enable the former to develop, support and maintain the Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard Harbour. This harbour will be set up in Sifavaru (Uthuru hilafalhu). This agreement is based on the request from Maldives government made in 2013. This is to help the southeast Asian nation to enhance maritime security and strengthen Maldivian Coast Guard capability.
